Japanese precision made in Austria: Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 2025 Snowboard

Last week we got the chance to test out the all now Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro Snowboard. We've always been a fan of Kazu's riding style, and the fact that he's been involved in the design process of this board made it even more intriguing. we were stoked to have the opportunity to test it out on the slopes of Hintertux.

Who is Kazu Kokubo?

For those who may not be familiar, Kazu Kokubo is a Japanese professional snowboarder known for his smooth, effortless style and versatility on the mountain. He's a true legend in the snowboarding world, with a career spanning over two decades. Kazu has been riding for Capita for many years, and his pro model has become a staple in the brand's lineup.

The Board: A Closer Look

The Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 2025 Snowboard is a high-performance board designed for riders who demand the best. At first glance, the board's sleek design and striking graphics caught my attention. But what really sets it apart is the combination of innovative features and Kazu's personal touch.

Here are some of the key features that stood out to us:

  • New for 2025: The board now features a more relaxed flex pattern, making it more accessible to a wider range of riders. This is a significant departure from earlier models, which were known for being quite stiff.
  • Powder-Ready: The Kazu Pro has a directional shape with a longer nose and a shorter tail, making it perfect for floating through powder and navigating tight trees.
  • Icy Slopes, No Problem: The board's new Moonshot base is designed to provide exceptional speed and glide on hardpack and icy slopes.

First Impressions: Riding the Kazu Pro

I was excited to take the Kazu Pro for a spin on the slopes of Hintertux. The conditions were perfect – a mix of some fresh powder and hardpack icy slopes. As I strapped in and dropped into the first run, I was immediately impressed by the board's responsiveness and ease of turning compared to the older model.

The relaxed flex pattern made it easy to initiate turns, and the board's directional shape allowed me to carve through the powder with ease. When I encountered icy slopes, the Moonshot base proved to be a game-changer, providing a level of speed and control that I wasn't expecting.

A More Friendly Kazu Pro?

One of the things that struck me about the 2025 Kazu Pro is how much more approachable it is compared to earlier models. The more relaxed flex pattern and slightly softer nose make it easier to ride, especially for those who are new to high-performance snowboards.

Don't get me wrong – this is still a board that demands respect and skill. But for riders who are looking to step up their game, the Kazu Pro is an excellent choice.

Conclusion

After spending a day riding the Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 2025 Snowboard, I can confidently say that it's one of the best boards I've had the pleasure of riding although it is probably not for everybody. The board is made for experienced snowboarders in mind and any beginner/intermediate rider will probably not like this snowboard. other than that the combination of innovative features, Kazu's personal touch, and the board's more relaxed flex pattern make it a must-ride for any experienced looking for a high-performance snowboard.

If you're in the market for a new board and will put your skills to the test and something that can handle anything the mountain throws at you, look no further than the Kazu Pro. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Recommendation: The Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 2025 Snowboard is perfect for advanced riders who demand the best. If you're looking for a board that can handle powder, hardpack, and everything in between, this is the one.
