Stay Wild! The Story of Airblaster
Born from snowboarding and founded in the basement, Airblaster emerged from a sincere mission to share the ideals of fun, freedom, and friendship. Thirteen years ago, their first product was the Air Leash, a symbolic accessory meant to remind the wearer, the observer, and snowboarders in general to STAY WILD!
Why a Leash?
In the early days of snowboarding, a group of wild individuals took to the slopes, riding around, inventing new expressions of freedom, and making ski resorts generally intimidating. During this time of outlaw-like expression and freestyle progression, the soul of snowboarding was forever shaped. Originally, leashes were non-functional tools used by resort management in an attempt to regulate, suppress, and control young snowboarders. It didn’t work.
The Evolution of Snowboarding Culture
But as snowboarding quickly grew into a serious market, marketing and natural cycles led to a paradigm where “cool” became “too cool” ... and “having fun” turned into “getting sponsored.” In the early 2000s, instead of a smile and a high-five from a fellow snowboarder, one could expect a shrug and a hard look. Black was the new black, and fun and freedom were on the back burner.
Welcome to Airblaster
Welcome to Airblaster, named after a “fart move” and led by the wild frontman Travis Parker. Airblaster brings the fun and freedom back to the snow. Their mission remains: Please Stay Wild.
