Introducing the Island Snowboards Deep Psych, a snowboard that embodies the spirit of adventure and innovation. Inspired by the musical genre of psych, this snowboard is a testament to our passion for creativity and performance. The Deep Psych features a modern twist on classic snowboarding vibes, with an extended front and shortened tail for enhanced drive and balance in powder snow. Its wide nose ensures superior float, while the heavy taper and larger sidecut allow for effortless maneuverability and speed in open terrain. Constructed with a Hokkaido wood core, this board offers extra stiffness for stability across all conditions. The graphics, designed by local artist Peter Martin, blend organic elements with contemporary techniques, creating a visually stunning piece that stands out on the slopes.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced drive and balance in powder snow
  • Superior float and maneuverability
  • Stable ride in all conditions

Good to Know

The Deep Psych is available in both darker and earthy versions, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences. Its design is a continuation of the successful "Volume One" shape, renowned for its all-mountain capabilities.

The perfect mix: Japanese wood species and advanced technology

The heart of every Island Snowboard is the core, carefully composed of a unique combination of Japanese wood species. After years of research and testing, the experts at Island Snowboards have found the ideal balance between weight, flex, and strength.

The core consists of two native wood species from Hokkaido:

Honoki (Magnolia obovata): Known for its light weight and flexibility Tamo (Fraxinus mandshurica): Valued for its strength and resilience

These carefully selected wood species are manually processed into precision-cut pieces, which are then laminated into core blocks. From these blocks, individual snowboard cores are cut and shaped, all in-house.

But Island Snowboards goes beyond just using high-quality natural materials. They combine this traditional approach with advanced technology to elevate the performance of their boards:

High-grade 7500 sintered bases for maximum speed Carbon fiber stringers for extra stability and responsiveness Japanese steel edges for optimal grip on ice and hard snow Triaxial fiberglass for the perfect balance between flexibility and torsional rigidity

This combination of natural materials and modern technology results in snowboards that are not only high-quality but also have a unique character that perfectly matches the individual riding style of every snowboarder.

Summary

  • Modern twist on classic snowboarding vibes
  • Wide nose and heavy taper for superior performance
