Good to Know

The Volume One features a unique graphic design by London-based artist Owen Tozer, incorporating digital and analogue elements for a visually stunning look. Available in sizes 148 cm, 153 cm, 158 cm, and 163 cm, this snowboard caters to a wide range of rider preferences.

The perfect mix: Japanese wood species and advanced technology

The heart of every Island Snowboard is the core, carefully composed of a unique combination of Japanese wood species. After years of research and testing, the experts at Island Snowboards have found the ideal balance between weight, flex, and strength.

The core consists of two native wood species from Hokkaido:

Honoki (Magnolia obovata): Known for its light weight and flexibility Tamo (Fraxinus mandshurica): Valued for its strength and resilience

These carefully selected wood species are manually processed into precision-cut pieces, which are then laminated into core blocks. From these blocks, individual snowboard cores are cut and shaped, all in-house.

But Island Snowboards goes beyond just using high-quality natural materials. They combine this traditional approach with advanced technology to elevate the performance of their boards:

High-grade 7500 sintered bases for maximum speed Carbon fiber stringers for extra stability and responsiveness Japanese steel edges for optimal grip on ice and hard snow Triaxial fiberglass for the perfect balance between flexibility and torsional rigidity

This combination of natural materials and modern technology results in snowboards that are not only high-quality but also have a unique character that perfectly matches the individual riding style of every snowboarder.

Summary

  • All-terrain snowboard with playful pop and warp speed base
  • Tapered directional shape for superior powder performance
  • Balanced flex with Japanese wood-core and carbon stringers
  • Unique graphic design by Owen Tozer for a standout appearance
